Don't expect to live the same lifestyle as you did before the injury. In fact as a person who was injured on the job you shouldn't be doing anything except for what the doctor has said you can do. Living down from your regular paycheck to living on disability can bring on depression from the feeling that you are not able to bring in enough bacon. You have to fight the feeling back, after all there is no reason that you cannot be retrain to work in another field. With new training comes a sense of relief and a lift from the depression. New training can also help you to heal faster and it can bring back some sense of relief because you are bringing home the bacon again.

Also an investigation usually follows the accident to make sure that the person was injured on the job and not somewhere else. Also it has to be determined if the accident was self inflicted or not, and to see if the employee was following company policy and safety procedures. If the investigation shows that the employee was not following regulations or that the injury occurred off the job, then the claimant will be denied a claim. Expenses that Are Covered BY Workers Compensation Insurance. The Insurance does substitute your wages, usually it only pays two thirds of your regular salary. The wage replacement in not taxed, so it should be close to your normal income. It does cover all medical expenses, doctors, prescriptions, lab test, x-rays and even travel expenses for the injured employee. Workers compensation insurance will also pay for the employee to be retrained to go back into the job market, if you injury requires for you to be retrained. They also pay compensation for permanent injuries and will pay survivor benefits in case the injury resulted in a death of the employee.
